Challenge
Personal tax practices serving newcomers, students, and seniors compete on trust, not price — but their digital storefronts usually look like generic SaaS template sites that erode the trust the practitioner has already earned in person. The brief: a site that feels like a local advisor's office rather than a marketing funnel, with intake flows that surface the right service path (personal filing vs. payroll, GTA-resident vs. international student, T1 vs. T1-NR), and structured-data markup that earns the local search the practice should already own.

Built the site mobile-first with semantic HTML and accessible typography — most newcomer traffic arrives on phone, often via a friend's WhatsApp share.

Embedded LocalBusiness JSON-LD with explicit areaServed coverage (GTA + Ontario), explicit telephone/email, and per-service schema for each tax + payroll line.

Structured the service navigation around audience first (newcomers, students, seniors, small business), then drilled down to the specific filing path — instead of forcing visitors to translate "T1-NR" into a buying decision.

Wired a contact intake (PHP backing for the host's existing stack) with a deliberate, no-tracking-by-default consent posture.

Held the visual identity to a calm, transparent palette — refund-first messaging without the aggressive "max refund" rhetoric that drives sophisticated clients away.
Outcome
The practice now has a digital front door that reflects the calibre of advice delivered in the chair: trustworthy, audience-aware, and findable for the high-intent local queries ("tax filing for international students Toronto," "payroll services Ontario small business") that actually convert.
